Our Campus
Our campus is a vibrant academic village, which opened in 2007.
First Class Facilities in Which to Live and Learn
With an innovative learning resource centre at its heart, the campus also features high-tech facilities and beautiful landscaped grounds.
The campus includes student residences, a students’ union, indoor sports facilities and all weather surfaces, a variety of catering outlets, a shop and landscaped gardens. The design takes full account of the needs, lifestyles and learning styles of today's students. There is, of course, appropriate disabled access to residences and academic buildings.
Getting to the Campus
With great transport links generally, it takes under six minutes to reach the campus from central Edinburgh by train.
The campus is situated to the south east side of Edinburgh, directly beside Musselburgh train station. There are also frequent bus services from central Edinburgh. The area is bordered by the main east coast rail line to London and the A1. It also neighbours the city bypass.
The Local Area
As well as offering easy access to Edinburgh city centre, and all the attractions of Scotland’s capital city, the campus is a gateway to East Lothian, an area characterised by beaches, and historic countryside; and featuring plenty of opportunities for outdoor pursuits from surfing and wakeboarding to golfing and horse-riding. The campus is also positioned conveniently Fort Kinnaird shopping and cinema complex and for the shops, cafes, harbour and race course in the centre of Musselburgh.
Sustainable Design
The campus set a new benchmark in sustainable design when it opened. As such, it demonstrates how we have we have placed sustainability at the very core of our vision, taking a joined up approach to the social, environmental and economic dimensions of sustainable development.
