Steve Parkinson is Chief Strategic Partnerships and Events Officer at Bauer Media Group.
He graduated from Queen Margaret College in 1988 with a Diploma in Drama (Stage Management) with Distinction.
Since then, Steve has gone on to build a very successful career in radio broadcasting, managing national radio brands such as Kiss, Magic and Absolute Radio.
Steve joined Dean of the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management, Professor David Stevenson for our first ever alumni podcast series, Going Off Script With..., which celebrates 50 years for drama and performing arts teaching at QMU.
He recalls his student days including how he managed to convince Runrig to play a gig in the Corstorphine canteen, talks about his career highlights, and discusses the importance of his father’s sound advice to stay calm by ‘keeping the heid’.
