What has been the highlight of your time at QMU so far?
My highlight has definitely been staying in student residences! I had never visited Edinburgh before I started my course and I am so happy with my choice to stay in halls last year. It made adjusting to somewhere new a lot easier when I didn’t have a commute in the morning.
I have also made friends from other courses which is nice as I would not have met them if I did not stay in halls.
Another perk of staying on campus is the fact I can roll out of bed in the morning and still be on time for my 9am lectures! I’m not a morning person so this is a huge bonus!
What is the one thing you wish you knew before coming to university at QMU?
I wish I knew how friendly people are here! Staff are all super approachable and helpful with any queries or even if you just want a chat. Since the campus is small, you recognise faces quickly, especially if you go to social events. It’s nice to know so many people around campus. It makes the stress of settling into uni life that bit easier.
What is your favourite thing about being an ambassador for QMU?
Being a student ambassador has given me the opportunity to meet prospective students and tell them about the positive experiences I have of being a student here. Of course, answering any questions the prospective students have as well! It’s nice to know my help can make a difference to someone’s decision to study here. Choosing a university is an overwhelming experience if I can make that decision a bit easier then I have done my job.
