Jobs, Work Experience and Volunteering
Jobs, Work Experience and Volunteering
In a competitive market place employers are looking for graduates who bring more than just a degree. During your time at university you are expected to have developed skills such as problem solving, effective communication and leadership. You are also expected to have gained work experience, ideally related to your degree or choice of career.
Your years at university present a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience, insight and really build your employability. Part-time jobs, seasonal work, placements, internships and voluntary work are all ways that will help you achieve this.
How We Can Help
We can give careers advice while you are a student and help you explore what’s available in the way of part time work, internships, volunteering and graduate level employment as you study. Our online vacancy service is set up to allow you to search for work experience, jobs and volunteering opportunities by sector and location. You can search for opportunities from the moment you arrive at QMU and use the service throughout your degree to gain a variety of useful experiences.
We make every effort to ensure the information we provide is up-to-date and the opportunities we advertise are genuine, lawful and non-discriminatory. However, students are encouraged to do their own due diligence before making any decisions or applying for or accepting any opportunities.
Paid Work with Careers and Employability
We are delighted to be able to offer some paid posts for students to assist us with our careers activities. This includes the appointment of a Marketing and Administration Intern to assist us with our Employer Mentoring Programme.
