Current Students
Expecting further loan payments this academic year (2023/24)
Please be reassured that any remaining loan disbursements for the 2023/24 academic year will continue to be honoured.
Graduating in summer 2025
Queen Margaret University will award and disburse direct loans and process loan deferments under the Federal Loan Program for current students during the 2024/25 academic year. This means that if you are already receiving funds from the Federal Loan Program in 2023/24 and plan to renew for the 2024/25 academic year, you can continue to do so.
Graduating in summer 2026 or later
At this moment in time, for academic years 2025/26 and beyond you will not be able to apply for funding through the Federal Loan Programme. Queen Margaret University will update this page if it re-joins the Federal Loan Program in the future.
You may wish to consider Sallie Mae as an alternative source of loan provider. QMU is not connected to this company and you should consider their terms and conditions before applying.
About to graduate and apply for a postgraduate course
If you are considering continuing to study with us on a different programme after you graduate this summer, the Federal Loan Program considers you to be a new student and unfortunately you will not be eligible to apply for any additional loans from the Federal Loan Program.
You may wish to consider Sallie Mae as an alternative source of loan provider. QMU is not connected to this company and you should consider their terms and conditions before applying.
