Location and Getting Here for Summer Accommodation
Our campus is easily accessible whether you are travelling to us by car, bike or public transport.
During the summer months, we have up to 400 FREE parking spaces. You can then hop on the train into Edinburgh Waverley which is 1 stop away, and in 6 minutes, be in the heart of the Festival city! So why not park your car here for the duration of your stay & then travel into Edinburgh by train?
Train is the fastest way to the campus. Musselburgh train station is right next to our campus (the campus is clearly visible from the train station), a two minute walk from the main academic building. For full timetable information, please look at the First Scotrail website.
Lothian bus number 30 comes right onto campus. They also operate a late night bus service that comes back to campus from Edinburgh city centre. The Lothian bus service N30 leaves North Bridge Edinburgh at 25 minutes past the hour from 00.25 through to 3.25am. This journey costs £3. Full details of travel by bus can be found on the Lothian Buses website.
We have a Green Travel Plan in place and encourage visitors to the campus to travel by public transport, car share, cycling and walking. We’ve also got cycle storage available should you wish to bring your own bike.
Why not hire a bike to travel around the campus or even to Edinburgh? Bikes can be taken on the local train services.
Go e-Bikes are available to hire from a location at the entrance to the university and beside the train station. You can hire a bike and start riding within just minutes of downloading the app. As well as pay per ride, you can also get a daily, monthly, or annual membership to the scheme which is available online or through the mobile app. Rides cost from £2 for 30mins, with £0.05 for each additional minute, and annual membership costs £65 with unlimited 45mins trips.
