Teaching Approach
Learning with us at IGHD
We recognise that IGHD students will come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Therefore intensive support is provided through study skills and access to the University’s Media Services. Excellent resources are available in the library through books, electronic journals and internet facilities.
Teaching and learning is student-centred and participatory, with excellent resources as well as high-quality support for learning. At postgraduate level, you will come to us with a wealth of experience drawn from your academic and professional backgrounds. This will be used in class situations for group learning and case studies.
Teaching and learning is carried out in class based sessions, group work, internet based learning, seminars as well as individual study.
Flexible study
Flexible study is important. Students can exit their studies at different points of the programmes without losing their academic credits and with the possibility of gaining a postgraduate certificate or diploma. These awards can contribute towards an MSc if a student wants to return to study within a period of 4 years. Part-time or full time study at IGHD is possible with entry in September or January each year.
For full time participants, the course lasts one calendar year, starting in September each year. January entry is also permitted for suitably qualified participants. However, please note that the course for those students joining in January will last 13 months instead of 12.
