Dr Isidoropaolo Casteltrione (PhD, BA (Hons), BA) is a Lecturer in the Media, Communication and Performing Arts Division. He is also an associate member of the Centre for Communication, Cultural & Media Studies.

Paolo has a bachelor degree in Communication, an honours degree in Communication, Advertising and PR, and a PhD in Political Communication obtained respectively at the Università Suor Orsola Benincasa (2006), Edinburgh Napier University (2009), and Queen Margaret University (2015).
His PhD project examined the contributions of Facebook to citizens’ political participation in Italy and United Kingdom and his main research interests include social media, online community formation, online self-presentation, the Internet and information, digital communications, political communication, and citizens’ political behaviours.
Paolo has been working at QMU in the capacity of Lecturer since 2016, teaching a number of modules on the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Paolo currently operates within the Division of Media, Communication & Performing Arts and Queen Margaret Business School, and is the Programme Leader for the MSc Strategic Communication and Public Relations.

Paolo is a committed and professional early-career researcher whose main research interests include social, digital and traditional media, dialogue, political communication, and online stakeholders’ engagement. He has recently completed a PhD in which he examined the contributions of Facebook to citizens’ political participation in Italy and the United Kingdom.
