I am a lecturer in nursing here at QMU and predominately work on our pre-registration nursing programme. My expertise lies in care home nursing, care of older persons, person-centred nursing, and nursing research. Alongside my academic role, I continue to work clinically as a nurse in a local care home. I am research active, and am currently working towards a PhD. I am a member of the Centre for Person-Centred Practice Research and a chapter leader for the Sigma Global Omega Xi Chapter in Scotland.

My main research focuses are on care home nursing Care of older persons and person-centred practice Relational approaches to nursing practice.
I am currently doing a PhD, and my research is an action orientated project that aims to develop the relationships that older persons have in a care home.
