A Registered Nurse with 22 years nursing experience in the acute sector until transitioning to Community Nursing in 2018 when I graduated from QMU with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Practice (District Nursing Pathway). During Covid I was seconded as Team Manager to the Midlothian Care Home Support Team which saw me lead a unique team of Nurse Practitioners, Palliative Care Specialist, CPNs and OT to support residents and staff within theses CHs, focusing on Standards of Clinical Care and Quality Improvement. During this time I completed my Masters Dissertation and Graduated with MSc in PCP in 2023. I've been an Honorary Lecturer at QMU as part of a Clinical Academic Home Partnership since 2022 which acted as a stepping stone into my current role as a full-time Lecturer. I'm delighted to join QMU and am really looking forward to the coming year as I develop new skills alongside the knowledge and experience I bring with me.
My main focus is supporting the Specialist Practitioner District Nurse Postgraduate programme.
