Karen McKenzie is a Professor of Psychology at Northumbria University, an honorary Professor at Queen Margaret University and honorary Associate at NHS Lothian. She is an HCPC registered and Chartered Clinical Psychologist. She has a particular interest in the area of developmental disabilities and has worked with people with an intellectual disability for over 30 years. She has over 200 peer reviewed publications related to her research in this and other areas. She is the co-developer of the Learning Disability Screening Questionnaire (LDSQ) and the child and adolescent equivalent (CAIDS-Q) which are used by services across the UK and internationally to help identify people who are likely to have an intellectual disability. Karen is an active researcher and collaborates with colleagues across the UK. She has enjoyed successful collaborations with colleagues at Queen Margaret University, which have resulted in a number of influential publications.
