Zlata Skabova Ing., FHEA, is a Lecturer in Paramedic Science at QMU.

I am originally from the Czech Republic. I finished my BSc.(Hons) degree in Paramedic Science in 2013 at the University of West Bohemia and then continued at the Czech Technical University in Prague where I received my master's degree in Protection of Population - Civil Emergency Planning.
During my master studies I was also working for the Ambulance Service of Central Bohemian Region.
In 2015 I relocated to the UK and I was working as a Paramedic for the South Western Ambulance Service until 2022. In 2021 I joined QMU and the Scottish Ambulance Service in 2022.

I am the Paramedic Practice Placement module coordinator and I am managing ambulance placements, cross sector placements and third sector placements for all three Paramedic Science Cohorts.
I am also involved in simulation practice learning and theoretical academic modules.
