At QMU we have a long tradition of welcoming students from all over the world. Around 25% of Queen Margaret University students are international coming from over 80 countries throughout the world.

Entry Requirements

For undergraduate courses:

Admission to our undergraduate programmes can be made by those holding a relevant diploma or other recognised qualification such as GCE A Levels, International Baccalaureate, American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s or other recognised qualification.

Applicants with WAEC/WASSC will usually be required to undertake additional study, such as a relevant and acceptable foundation programme such as INTO, or Kaplan. Other alternatives include a relevant and acceptable college qualification such as a Higher National Certificate or Diploma from a UK Further Education College.

For postgraduate courses:

We will consider applications from students holding a good Bachelors degree from a recognised university.

Please note that the above is given for guidance only and that entry requirement will vary between courses. We may also be looking for a strong Statement of Purpose/Personal Statement, some work experience or specific subjects to have been studied at an advanced level. Scholarships, Fees and Funding

QMU International Scholarships:

The University is pleased to offer a number of competitive scholarships of up to £3,000 each for new international students undertaking their first year of study on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The scholarship is granted as a reduction of the tuition fee and is available to students who are self-funding with an international tuition fee of more than £9,000 for a single year of study only. Applications can be made by students who have received an offer of a place of study at the University.
